Life update #2

What has been going on in my life? Not too much to be honest.

Same $hit different day. There has been a few home issues which I think I have almost completely pulled myself away from which is a complete win for me. For so long I had been dragged into silly petty rows that don't really concern me and have no meaning of me to be involved and, being caught on a bad day, I said enough is enough. I am no longer interest in this. I think I can say, that's the end of that! For now anyways.

I am currently trying to have a spending ban. I'm still going to treat myself to a few odd bits & bobs but trying to cut down. I'm trying to pay off my debts at the moment and have a financial plan in place to be debt free by December 2013. It is going to be hard but to make what money I have left, last longer, I am going to leave my bank card at home when I go to work, to stop me going to Tesco's and buying rubbish that I don't really need. Stick to making lunches at home and making do with what I have. Doing this, I am hoping I will see my money last longer. It all sounds great on paper but sticking with it is going to be the hard situation. I think paying off my debts will be easier than telling myself, do I really need that extra nail varnish? I am still going to have a monthly splurge on something cause I don't want to completely doll my life is not getting anything new. I just want to try and do it once, instead of every week.

Me and Danny really want to move into together so the plan is to also start saving. As I have several amounts of debts to pay off, I am going to save a smaller amount than Dan. But we want to save a couple of grand so we can put money down for a deposit for a flat and a little bit extra to buy homie bits. Then plan is that by 2014 we will start looking for somewhere. Fortunately we are in no rush, As much as we would like to rush it and move in straight away as we are more than ready, sometimes slow and steady wins the race. I DEFINATLY do not want to move into somewhere and tie myself down if I cannot financially afford it.

That's really all there is at the moment. Still going to the gym but the diet isn't going so smoothly. I have still lost weight but I probably could have done a lot better. I am still feeling positive and giving it a good go.

I have a few new luxury beauty items coming soon. So as soon as I have them I will do a first review on them. 2 out of the 3 items I bought, I have had my eye on for a while so I have very excited!

April & May Glossybox Review

I decided to jump on the bandwagon and subscribe to Glossybox. To people who do not know, It is a monthly subscription of £12.95pm and each month you get 5 luxary sample items. I love trying new things but sometimes if you go out and buy the product and its not something you like, you think, what a waste of money. With Glossybox you get 5 random samples (Sometimes full size) products of new up and coming beauty, skin & hair products. So every month I will do a blog post of everything I got and a first review.

April GlossyBox

1. Richard Ward Couture Hair Style Reviver(50ml)  - Full size 150ml usually £19.00
This is basically hairspray in fancy words. I like it but I wasn't Wowed by it. I usually use Tresemme Freeze Hold Hairspray (500ml £4.69) and I think it lasted a lot longer and for the price, I really do not think it is worth it. This is a thumbs down for me,
2. NIP & FAB Dry skin body butter in Mango Smoothie (50ml) - Full Size 200ml usually £9.95
I really like this product and its a very generous sample size I think. It smells amazing. I like body butters and I do like this. I am currently using palmers coco butter but, if I don't have that to hand I use this. This is a thumbs up for me!
3. Etre Belle Collagen & Aleo Vera Face mask (1pack) - Full size is 10 packets for 25.95 EUROS
I hated this products. I'm not a massive fan of face masks, the whole keeping your face still and relaxing. I don't find the relaxing. I would rather have a massage than this. It was very wet on my face which I didn't like either. I left it on for 15 minuets and it was still very wet and I thought it was meant to dry out a little but it didn't. Also, because it is European, the instructions were not in English so I had no idea! Big thumbs down!
4. Yves Rocher France Nutritive Vegetal 24H Crème(15ml) - Full size 50ml for £13.50
I suffer from very dry skin on my face. Especially on my cheeks and forehead and this is a beautiful product. It has really revived my skin. It makes my skin feel all brand new but I don't like the sent. I'm not sure if I would buy it in full size but I do like it. Thumb up!
5. Sunsence Daily Face SPF (10) - Full size 75g for £18.50
I really didn't like the product. I am very much a spring person, I don't mind the sun but I like it too be breezy so I wouldn't usually buy anything with SPF because I don't sit in the sun. I don't like sitting in direct sunlight, I am the person in the shade so I found the product useless. It was very oily and the bottle had like a twist and pull cap so you would only use it once. Big thumbs down

Overall, this was an OK glossybox. For my first ever one I was very disappointed. Considering when I looked online the other products they were giving away (Essie Nail Polish), well it made me very sad! On the other hand I loved the box. This was a special edition box by Pearl Lowe

May GlossyBox

1. Caudalie Divine Oil (15ml) - Full size £4.05 for 15ml
Well this made me happy because it is full size! You might think, only 15ml but because it is oil, how much do you really need. This smells good and I have been using it on my hair. You can also use it on your skin, nails & to a bath. I think I will carry on using this and might even get some more. Thumbs up!
2. L'Occitane En Provence Angelica Hydration Cream (15ml) - 50ml for £30
This smells great, it smells very fresh and makes your skin so soft! I don't I would purchase the full size as I find £30 a lot for cream but I do appreciate it. Again, Thumbs up!
3.Beautiful Movements Cosmetics Prime & Create Mixing Medium (2.5g) - 20g for £20
To be honest, I haven't used this yet so I don't know how good or bad it is. It seams ok when I tested it on my hand and it spread very well. So I will be fair and give it a thumbs up!
4. Jelly Pong Pong Fairly Lashes Mascara - Full size £15
I'm pretty sure this is another full size product. It is massive, if it wasn't it would be interesting to see how big it really is. Again, I have not used this yet. I like the brush on it, Long thing brush applicator. The only down side it is waterproof but, being fair, thumbs up!
5. Headline Colours in Spotlight - Full size £9
Another FULL SIZE ITEM! YAH! I think out of all the colours you could have got, I got the best one. Its a very pale pink colour. Didn't chip for a good couple of days so I like. I love nail varnishes so seeing this in my box, I was VERY HAPPY!
6. YES THERE IS A SIX ITEM. Glossybox own brand nail files.
They are so cute & mini I love it! Just what you need as en emergency file in your bag.

Mays glossybox was so much better. Glossybox celebrated there 2 year anniversary and I had a gut feeling it was going to be a good box, and boy, they did not disappoint!

Hope you enjoyed my blog and I'll see you next month for another Glossybox review.

Whats your star sign?

I have a friend, who’s mum is something special. Not only is she very beautiful but she is very spiritual. She picks up good and bad vibes and I can honestly say 9/10 times she is right. At the beginning of the week she picked up a good vibe, let me know and then by the end of the week, something great happened. This has happened between me and her for many years, I truly think she is a fantastic person.

Yesterday, we had another similar conversation in the most random place.

We were just mainly talking about life and then before we knew it, we were talking about how spiritual we are and star signs. She read my star sign out to me from different views. So as a friend, a mother, a working individual and just common traits. I can honestly say that everything she read to me, I thought she was describing my whole life and they way I react & feel about things.

I do believe that most people are like there star signs. Not 100% as their star sign, but the majority of it.

My question is, do you think you are like you star sign? Why don't you research it & find out?

Elf Haul & First review

Oopps I have been spending again! I recently purchased a few bits from e.l.f (eyes, lips, face). For those of you who do not know what elf is, it is an American brand with all really affordable makeup! I couldn't believe how cheap some of the items were. I think I got a good selection of makeup. I have listed below everything I got and I will do a short first review below with some swatches too. Please bare in mind that some of the items were on special offer so they might be slighter cheaper than usual.

1. Defining eye brush £1.50
2. Eye Shadow Bruch £1.50
3. Brush Shampoo £3.75
4. Dual Pencil Sharpener £1.50
5. Eyebrow Stencil Kit £1.50
6. Flawless Eyeshadow in Beautiful Browns £2.50
7. Flawless Eyeshadow in Smokey £2.50
8 & 9 .Baked Eyeshadows in Enchanted & Bark £3.75 each
10. Eyelid Primer in pearl £1.50
11. 2 in 1 Conditioning lipgloss in Love it £3.75
12. Lipstick in fearless £1.50
13. Long Wear Lipliner in natural blush £1.50
14. Lip Stain in pink petal £2.50
15. All over cover stick in light beige £1.50
16. Clarifying Pressed Powder in light beige £1.50
17. Blusher in Innocence £2.50
18. Zit Zapper £1.50
19 & 20 . 3 piece Nail Polish sets in Beach Party & Vacation Trio £4.00
20-28. Custom eyes in Ivory, Mocha, Pink Ice, Dusky, Truly Pink, Wisteria, Aubergine & Driftwood 45p each!
29 & 30. Two Custom pallets with mirror £3.00 each

Oooo boy! I was so excited when this got delivered. There are a few winners in here which I know I will be purchasing some more. So on with the first reviews.

Eyeshadows

These are the baked eye shadows and these are my fav thing out of everything that I purchased.
They have a nice colour pay off.
I recently wore these on a night out and got a lot of compliments. So this for me is a winner! I will be getting a lot more soon.

These are the custom palettes. I think for the price they are perfect! Again the colour pay off is good. Not as nice as the baked eye shadows but for 45p each - You can't complain. I like that you can create your own little mini palettes. Again a winner for me. I don't know how many other colours there is in the shadows but I know you can also get concealers and lip products in the pallets too.

This is the 4 quad pallets. I like these too. I like how the have engraved into the eye shadow what to use it for. I think these would be nice for people who are new to eye shadows. Overall, A nice little product.

These brushes for me are a let down. I have heard good reviews for these. For the price they might be ok but they have a lot of loose hairs straying away from the rest and that really frustrates me. I don't think I would try any more of the eyeshadow brushes but I am interested in getting some of their face brushes. Overall, I don't like these. I would rather pay a lot more for better quality & longer lasting brushes.

Face Products

Now we have the cover stick, pressed power and the primer in pearl. I'm not to sure on the pressed powder and cover stick. I prefer the cover stick but if you want something with a good coverage then I don't think the pressed powder will be the one for you. The primer on the other hand, it very nice on a first review. I have not used this on a long night out so I couldn't say if it would make my eyeshadow last longer, but it is a nice all over product over the lid.

Lip Products

Next onto lipstick, lip stain, lip liner & gloss.
The lipstick is the best out of the 4! It is so pigmented & have a lovely smooth feel but matte finish! I am going to get some more of the lipsticks and for only £1.50 they are such a BARGAIN!
The lip stain, well boy, these really do stain! When I first opened this box I done a little swatch on my hand around 12 and by the time I had gone home it was still on my hand! I'm not very keen on the pen applicator though. This is an average product for me.
The lip liner is another average product for me, nice colour pay off but very hard. I like my lip liner to be very soft so this is the only down fall for me. Lastly the gloss. I didn't realise how much gold shimmer was in this. For me is just a little too much but apart from that very nice. I would get some more but try and stick to clear ones.

Nail Varnishes

I love me some nail varnishes and these are a win! They are so cute, they would make a nice gift for someone. They darker colours only need one coat but the paler colour need several coats. But, I do really like these. Again, on my next E.L.F shop I will be getting some more.

And that's everything! This is only my opinion so you might have different views but this is my honest opinion. I hope you like it & if I do get any more products or love anything in particular then I will be sure to do a blog post!

Nail Varnishes

I thought I would do a blog/review about some of the nail varnishes I have. I have quite a few but I thought I would just review the ones I have.

Starting with my favourite nail varnishes - NYC. I think these are great and affordable! So the top ones are my matte ones, middle - shimmer and the bottom ones are glittery. I think I have some more lying around but these are the ones I could find. They are around £2-£3 in Superdrug. I literally am in love with them! They take no time to dry at all. The top coat is my fav top coat off all time! It dries so quickly! I would highly recommend them. I haven't come across a colour that has a rubbish pay off. The only need 2 coats and it will be the same colour as in the bottle. Go and get yourself some!

Next are new nail varnishes I have discovered. Recently a B&M opened by my work and they sell these for around £2-£3 each. They are a lot bigger than the NYC ones and again, you don't need to apply a lot of coats. The only problem I find is they take slightly longer to dry. Other than that, I really love them! The glittery ones pay off is brilliant but they take FOREVER to dry and I get impatient and end up taking it off. But the regular ones are fantastic! Pop to your local B&M store & get some!

These are Superdrug own brand, 2true. They are roughly between £1-£3 and for the price is great! This is where my obsession with nail varnishes began! Because they were so affordable I started buying these - They often do a deal - 3 items for £5 so I would usually get some. They are great! Some of them will need a few more coats than other colours but I love them! The bright pink in the top picture if ones of my fav pinks. They have a lovely flat brush as well, I find it so easier to apply with a flat brush! Again, pop down and get some!

So starting in the top left corner, Sally Hansen. I really dislike these. I got these from B&M in a double pack and I think they were £4-£5. The colour pay off is great but by the next day it had already started chipping! I was really disappointed! I thought they would last a long time because I have seen other reviews and it all sounded very good but I find they are rubbish! So for me, I wouldn't buy anymore. Top right corner are my Sinful Nail varnishes. I got these in a double back for around £6-£7. I love them! The lighted colour takes a couple of coats but the glittery one is FANTASTIC! I got these from my wholesaler so I don't know how much they would be online/in the shops but I would get some more! These are the only two colours I have so I need to get some more!
Next is the bottom left corner, Miss Sporty. These are also nice nail varnishes. They have a flat brush as well. I don't know what made me get the yellow one but when I used it, it looked very nice. They have a metal fluid line range as well, I have one of these and they look fantastic! Depending on what light you are in the change all different colours! I love nail varnishes like these! I feel like I am getting a better deal as they are multiple nail varnishes in one! Crazy I know!
And lastly, bottom right corner are my Beauty UK ones. I have just shown you mu two fav ones. Both glittery. I LOVE there glitter ones. Don't get me wrong, the normal ones are nice but I find the glittery ones look lovely. I usually like to have one nail that is glittery and I always go to pick up a beauty UK one as I find you don't need to put loads of coats on for it to cover your nail. Also affordable at around £3-£4 each.

So, here is my own personal opinion on some of my nail varnish collection! I have loads more but I didn't want to completely bore you!

So I hope you like it - Follow me for more beauty blogs!

Have a nice day & bank holiday weekend
